This Privacy Policy describes how letthatboycook LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company, (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit our website, buy or download beats, join The Vault, send us a song for the artist page, or take part in Cook Up Song Wars.
a. Personal information: When you purchase a license for our music, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, billing address, and payment details.
b. Usage information: We may collect information about your interactions with our website, including the pages you visit, the links you click, and the duration of your visit.
c. Device information: We may collect information about the device you use to access our website, such as your IP address, browser type, and operating system.
d. Free beats: When you download a free beat or the free pack, we collect your name, email address and artist name, and a phone number if you choose to give one. We also record whether you agreed to receive marketing emails.
e. Offers, saved carts and cart reminders: When you make an offer on exclusive rights, we collect your name, email address and the offer. When you save your cart, or type your name and email into the checkout form, we keep your name, your email address and the beats in your cart. If you don't finish your purchase, we may email you up to two reminders about that cart. Every reminder has a link to stop them, and they stop on their own when you buy.
f. Artist page submissions: When you send us a song for the artist page, we collect your artist name, email address, song title, the beat you used, your Instagram handle if you give one, the link to your song or the audio file you upload, and a cover image. If we approve the song, your artist name, song title, beat, Instagram handle and cover are shown publicly on the artist page, with a link to the song or a short preview of the file you uploaded. Your email address is never shown.
g. Cook Up Song Wars: You do not need an account and we do not ask for your email address. If you enter a song, we collect the artist name and song title you type and a 60-second clip of the song. The clip is cut on your own device; the full song is never sent to us. If you use the chat, we collect the name you choose and the messages you post. To hold each device to one vote, a random ID is saved in your browser's local storage, and we use a scrambled form of your network (IP) address to limit repeat votes and uploads. Your artist name, song title, chat name and messages, and battle results are visible to everyone on the page, and winning artists' names may appear in the weekly Top 5.
h. Store activity: Our own store counts plays, cart activity and checkout starts using a random session ID that is not linked to your name or email.

This Privacy Policy adheres to the regulations and principles of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA concerning Personal Data handling. We aim to make it straightforward for our customers and the public to understand what Personal Information we collect and store, the reasons for its collection, how we use that information, and individuals' rights concerning the personal Information in our possession.
a. We may share your personal information with third-party service providers who assist us in processing payments, delivering orders, authenticating members, and running our business. These providers include Stripe (beat-store checkout, payment processing, Vault subscription billing, and the customer portal), Resend (transactional order, access and artist page emails), our membership login and authentication provider (verifies your active subscription to unlock member-only pages), MailerLite (email), Cloudflare (secure storage and delivery of beats and Vault downloads, artist page songs and covers, and Cook Up Song Wars clips, chat and voting), Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook) Pixel (analytics and advertising), Framer (website hosting), and Google Fonts (typefaces on the Cook Up Song Wars page; your browser requests them from Google). Each receives only the data needed for its function.

a. Our website and services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. The chat and song uploads on our website are for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to send us a song.
a. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website.

We keep order, billing, and tax records for as long as the law requires (generally seven years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Cook Up Song Wars: a song clip is deleted when its battle ends. A clip that never gets a battle is deleted within two hours, and our storage automatically removes anything older than one day. Votes are cleared when each battle ends. The chat keeps only its most recent messages. The scrambled network address used for upload limits is kept for up to one hour. Weekly Top 5 names are kept for the current week and the week before.
Artist page submissions are kept until you ask us to remove them. Free beat sign-up, offer and cart reminder records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

letthatboycook LLC operates from North Carolina, United States. This policy is governed by North Carolina law, without limiting rights you may have under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA.
When you join The Vault, we and our payment processor (Stripe) collect and process your name, email address, and payment method to set up and run the recurring subscription. Before each Vault download, our download server checks your sign-in with our membership provider to confirm an active subscription. We share your email address with our email provider to send membership updates. Each time you open a member-only page, our membership authentication provider checks whether your subscription is active in order to unlock or restrict that page; this involves a login session cookie. Lesson activity such as checklist progress is stored locally in your browser (local storage) on your own device and is not transmitted to or stored by us.
You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal or by emailing beats@letthatboycook.com. On cancellation we remove your access to the member beat library and lessons and, on request, remove you from the membership mailing list and delete your login credentials. Billing and tax records are retained as described in the Data retention section above.
