This Privacy Policy describes how letthatboycook LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company, (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit our website and purchase beats from us.

1. Information We Collect:

a. Personal Information: When you purchase a license for our music, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, billing address, and payment details.

b. Usage Information: We may collect information about your interactions with our website, including the pages you visit, the links you click, and the duration of your visit.

c. Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access our website, such as your IP address, browser type, and operating system.

2. Use of Information:

a. We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and fulfill your orders for beats.

  • Communicate with you about your orders, including order confirmations and updates.

  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

  • Improve and optimize our website and user experience.

  • Conduct marketing and promotional activities, including sending you marketing communications about our products and services that may be of interest to you.

3. Data Sharing:

This Privacy Policy adheres to the regulations and principles of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA concerning Personal Data handling. We aim to make it straightforward for our customers and the public to understand what Personal Information we collect and store, the reasons for its collection, how we use that information, and individuals’ rights concerning the personal Information in our possession.

a. We may share your personal information with third-party service providers who assist us in processing payments, delivering orders, authenticating members, and running our business. These providers include Airbit and PayPal (beat-store checkout and delivery), Stripe (Vault subscription billing and the customer portal), our membership login and authentication provider (verifies your active subscription to unlock member-only pages), MailerLite and Mailchimp (email), Dropbox (delivery of Vault beats to members), Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook) Pixel (analytics and advertising), and Framer (website hosting). Each receives only the data needed for its function.

b. We may also share your information with legal authorities or regulatory bodies if required by law or to protect our rights or the rights of others.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies:

a. We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used and to support advertising. Our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies; analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) are set only with your consent.

b. You may choose to disable cookies in your web browser settings, but please note that some features of our website may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

10. Data retention: We keep order, billing, and tax records for as long as the law requires (generally seven years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

11. Governing law: letthatboycook LLC operates from North Carolina, United States. This policy is governed by North Carolina law, without limiting rights you may have under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA.

12. The Vault membership data: When you join The Vault, we and our payment processor (Stripe) collect and process your name, email address, and payment method to set up and run the recurring subscription. We share your email address with Dropbox to grant you access to the members beat folder, and with our email provider to send membership updates. Each time you open a member-only page, our membership authentication provider checks whether your subscription is active in order to unlock or restrict that page; this involves a login session cookie. Lesson activity such as checklist progress is stored locally in your browser (local storage) on your own device and is not transmitted to or stored by us.

13. Cancelling and deleting your membership data: You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal or by emailing beats@letthatboycook.com. On cancellation we remove your access to the members folder and, on request, remove you from the membership mailing list and delete your login credentials. Billing and tax records are retained as described in the Data retention section above.
